A MAN found unresponsive by neighbours died after a heroin overdose, a court heard.
An inquest was opened into the death of Jamie Shakeal Bastafield at Bournemouth Town Hall on October 19.
Mr Bastafield, 37 and of Grosvenor Gardens, Bournemouth, died at his home address on August 27.
Coroner's officer Nicola Muller said Mr Bastafield, who worked as a carpenter and plumber, was a known IV drug user.
Ms Muller said he was found unresponsive on the floor by neighbours, who called for an ambulance and commenced CPR.
Paramedics attended but Mr Bastafield was pronounced dead at the scene. Police confirmed there were no suspicious circumstances.
The court heard officers found "drug paraphernalia and clear signs of drug misuse" in his room.
Following a post-mortem examination, a pathologist said the medical cause of death was a heroin overdose.
Area coroner for Dorset Brendan Allen adjourned the inquest, with a review hearing due to take place on January 14, 2022.
