THE Zero Waste Christmas Fayre, organised by Southbourne’s sustainability champions, SoBo Wastebusters, is back this year with eco-friendly gifts and activities.

After the Eco Fayre in 2019, SoBo Wastbusters is organising Dorset’s first Zero Waste Christmas Fayre to welcome in the festive season on Saturday, November 13, between 10.30am and 3.30pm at Bournemouth Collegiate School.

Rosie Edwards, co-founder of SoBo Wastebusters said: “Our last SoBo Eco Fayre was such a big hit, with over 700 people coming, we knew we wanted to do another event, and what better theme than Christmas! We want people to see that you can still have a great time and enjoy the holidays, without leaving a mark on the planet.”

The fayre will celebrate the sustainable groups and businesses from across the region including two of Bournemouth’s plastic-free shops, Almond & Co and Food On The Loose.

Other stalls include Franka, a jewellery maker getting creative with recycled plastic; and Lyons Brewery, a local, eco-friendly mead microbrewery.

There will also be stalls for the Dorset Wildlife Trust, the Dorset Devils, and make-your-own Christmas crafts.

Rosie said: “We’re so excited to be inviting people to another SoBo Wastebusters fayre. There’s going to be so many activities and sustainable workshops, like making eco-Christmas decorations and crackers, and wrapping presents without waste. Plus, we’ve invited lots of local businesses, so there’s plenty of opportunities to do a little Christmas shopping and enjoy some festive food and drink too. We’ve even organised some live music!”
