A PRIMARY school in Sturminster Newton will be hosting a 'Bike4Books' fundraiser next year.
The launch is being hosted at St Gregory's Primary School on Friday 5th November at 2.30pm, with North Dorset MP Simon Hoare confirmed to attend.
'Ladies of St Greg’s' will undertake a spin bike session from Marnhull to Rome, all in aid of books for the school.
The school is asking the public to attend the opening event where they will announce the details of the fundraiser and who is involved.
The fundraiser will take place on January 20 and 21 and will include the school's headteacher Debbie Field alongside teaching staff, parents, governors, the Reverend from St Greg’s, current pupils and ex-pupils.
The school says they currently have a 40 strong team of spinners from all walks of life.
The children will be tracking the event and each of the cities the fundraisers pass through.
A spokesperson from St Gregory’s Primary School said: "In order to raise the required £3,000, we will be working extremely hard not only spinning to Rome but also in publicising the event, we have a webpage for people to keep track of our preparation and importantly a link to out JustGiving page.
"You are key to that success, please help us broadcast this good news story involving so many women of our village. What of the men I hear you cry? In charge of refreshments of course, this really is an event for all."
To confirm attendance at the launch on November 5, at 2.30pm, email ptfastgregs@gmail.com or call 01258 820206.
