Tell us your birth storyI was booked in for my 3rd c section and had to be there at 7am so we got there on time and waited it was about 12.40ish and I get told the plane c section people has gone over on time and they gone home at this point I was not happy as I was not eaten any thing from 12 the night before but then she said I could wait until the ofter team come on but no gardentee I would be seen so I took the chance and waited come 3.30 they said I could go down I was happy and nurves at same time but all was great in the end and now I have a happy healthy baby boy

Tell us your birth storyMy waters went at 8am but didn’t have any real pains until around 4.40pm. By 5.15pm I felt the contractions were too strong and we left our house to go to Poole Maternity Hospital, with the intention of a water birth on the Haven Suite. We overlooked the fact it was rush hour traffic on a Friday and everywhere was gridlocked. Our little baby Amaia was not waiting for anything and when we got to the Liverpool Victoria roundabout in Poole I felt we needed to pull over and call an ambulance as she was likely to be born in the car! That she was- she was born on the back seat of Daddy’s Range Rover. We was on the 999 call for 23 minutes, waiting for the ambulance to arrive. We heard it go round 3 times before it finally found us- and then not one, but two ambulances arrived together! By this point Amaia’s head was already crowing and with two more pushes of the paramedics arriving she was delivered- safe and well in the car! We were taken to Poole Hospital for check over and discharged home just 4 hours later. All in a days work!

Despite staff shortages the midwives who cared for me were amazing. Despite being rushed off their feet they never failed to smile or offer words of support and encouragement. I cannot thank them enough for making what was an incredibly anxious time a little less frightening.

We got to 10cm and she still wasn’t ready, I was pushing for 2 hours and she didn’t move down the birth canal. This resulting in going to theatre and having forceps. She was healthy and happy and her delivery time was 57 seconds!

Tell us your birth storyMazie I was induced with on the 6th may 2020. As labour ward was so busy I had to wait to have my waters broken. But when that happened at 3am on the 8th may I had just gas and air and she was born at 11.14am. On the 30th June 2021 I had a scan and it was there they found out his growth had dropped and wanted an urgent induction the following day due to no movement & growth dropping. Had my waters broken at 11 & he was born at 3.46pm with his cord round his neck which is why his heart kept dropping the night before and during labour. He had a bit of oxygen to help him but he was fine after a few minutes.

We had a week stay in the maternity we were very well looked after. He’s a very happy lovely bundle of joy and his two sisters Amileah 5 and Lexi 2 are in love with him so gentle and kind with him.

However 2 days later willow had a poor heart trace so I needed an emergency c-section. Willow was born at 30 weeks and 5 days gestation (9 weeks and 2 days early) and taken straight to nicu. She is now 10 days old and still in nicu and will be for a while. She is doing well considering her gestation and mummy and daddy cannot wait to get her home eventually

Tell us your birth storyAfter a busy three months of getting engaged, planning a wedding, moving house, getting married, working full time as teachers (all whilst heavily pregnant) myself and my husband James welcomed our son Hugo after a very long labour! with me being called into hospital for an induction on the Monday but due to the hospital being overwhelmed I wasn’t actually induced till the Tuesday, they then told me there were no beds available on the labour ward so it wasn’t until Thursday I was moved to the labour ward. Hugo then needed an instrumental delivery in theatre and was born Friday morning… quite the labour but he’s here safe!

Tell us your birth storySo this birth was completly different to my first born, after being told our little girl wouldn't be more than 5lb at 38 alll our plans came crashing down and we planned to have a home birth we had the pool ready and everything and then to be told they was going to induce me at 39 weeks and there was no hope in a water birth or at home so that Friday we was told the ward was to busy to be induce and had to wait till Saturday but still had to come in for baby to be monitored... Saturday came and was told to come in at 7pm to be induce only to be told I was 3cm dilated and didn't need it so they wanted to break my waters yet again no beds for this to happen so we had to come back Sunday morning at 8am then to be told there was no bed still and to come back at 7pm by this time out little madam too matters in he town hands and contractions started just before we got to hospital do while watching the England match in hospital while waiting to go on to labour ward we finally got onto it and our princess was born at 11.40pm just after England lost x

Tell us your birth storyOn the 6th March 2021 I woke up with lots of pressure and braxston hicks pains, so me and my husband went for a drive around Bournemouth to distract me, I had them all day and then at 10pm my waters broke on the sofa and that’s when the pain started to get worse I phoned up the hospital and the lady said ‘ it doesn’t sounds like your in labour yet but just stay at home and when it gets worse then phone up again, I then said down the phone ‘I need to come in!!!!!’ They let me come in at that point just as well they did as I was 7cms dilated, my husband had to have a flow test and wait outside the hospital, just as I was about to start pushing I shouted where’s my husband? At that point the midwife went running out to find where he was, my husband came running in and after pushing for 20 mins our baby girl was born at 02:03am on Sunday 7th March

Tell us your birth storyAfter giving birth to Logan's stillborn baby sister, Ellie Lara Prince born sleeping at 39+5 back on the 1st of April 2020 (also a lockdown birth), I feel Pregnant with my rainbow baby boy shortly after, and I was due to be induced on the 25th of February at 37 weeks. Logan was constantly changing position due to polyhydramnios and when I went in to be induced he was Transverse, with the risk of a Cord Prolapse I was kept in and had a emergency cesarian section on the 26th of February. Logan was born at 18:06 weighing a healthy 8lbs 4oz at 37+1!

Tell us your birth storyOur baby girl was our sixth baby and we didn’t find out what we were having, we already have 5 boys together, she was born 4 days early after being taken into hospital for them to try to bring the labour on early I was in hospital for 2 days, they broke my waters at 12.30am on the 28th February and after labour not progressing but having regular contractions every 2 minutes I was eventually put on a drip to help things along and finally after a very long labour In our little girl was born at 17:57pm! We were both in so much shock but so happy to finally have a little girl after 16 years of having just boys! Our oldest son charlie is 16, Harvey is 13,Tayson is 9, Chace is 8, Rome is 4. Our family is complete!

Tell us your birth storyI was booked for elective c-section one week before my due date on 10/11. Poppy decided to make an appearance on 9/11 instead. Contractions started late night on 7/11 and we arrived at hospital early hours of 8/11, I was prepped for theatre and given injections to slow contractions then continued to labour with gas and air. Went into theatre around 9am on 9/11 and was crouched over the operating table about to have my epidural when my waters broke just seconds before the needle would’ve gone in. Poppy came naturally by 9.24am! Poppy’s middle name is Morris after my Grandad who sadly passed away on 10/11 at Poole hospital.

Tell us your birth storyArley was born a month early, he wasn’t in fact due till 16th December. He was transverse so I had to have and emergency c-section under anaesthetic as he wanted out quickly! We had to spend 10 very long days in the TCU part of the post natal ward due to some complications with Arleys weight and feeding, however all the staff and nurses were amazing with all the stress of covid and no visitors allowed it was a very stressful and lonely time but they helped us through it, and by time we got home Arleys daddy and big brothers were even more excited to have lots of cuddles

Although, we were excited to be reunited with daddy and a very proud big brother.

Bo was taken straight to the ICU as he had swallowed some fluid and so we spent the weekend together in the hospital, getting to know eachother through his incubator wall. We both came home healthy and happy to be a family 3 days later and he is sunshine in our lives.

Tell us your birth storyQuill arrived in the first lockdown, my husband Jack Constantine couldn’t be with us to meet his son because he was with Dexter our then 5 year old having proton Beam radiation and running Lush did girls from a far in Manchester, during the start of lock down, as Dexter was diagnosed with a rare inoperable cancer in his face . The lockdown and shielding with a baby repeatedly has been very challenging. Since March last year. Coming up to his first birthday he’s been very few places other than nursery but has been a true therapy baby to help Dexter through treatment and they adore one another. Dexter and Jack didn’t meet Quill till he was three weeks old.

Tell us your birth storyI became pregnant at the start of the pandemic. Alice was a twin but unfortunately lost her brother at 27 weeks due to placental failure (Charlie Peter Cherrett). I chose to be induced at 37 weeks due to Alice being small. Labour was short but painful. Alice was back to back and I needed forceps to help with delivering. I gave birth to both babies, which understandably involved mixed emotions. Alice was the perfect gift to end a rubbish year!

Due to her movements in my tummy being reduced and her heart rate that kept dropping, the midwives decided to induce me early. I was induced at around 1pm on the 14th of January and by 10:30pm that night, I had made no progress, so I told my fiancé (Scott Dodds) so get some sleep and that I'd call him in the morning or if I made any progress. In the next few hours, things sped up a lot quicker than anticipated. To the point where I didn't even get a chance to call Scott and tell him to get down to the hospital. He unfortunately missed the birth of his third daughter and I was alone giving birth to my first child. Unfortunately as most people know, due to Covid, that prevented Scott from being by my side the whole duration of my labor and he was only allowed to come into the hospital when I'd met certain progress. Marnie arrived safe as could be and with no complications. Then after we spent 4 and a half days in the TCU we were on our way home.

Tell us your birth storyI was induced on 23/12/2020, and after a long, fairly traumatic day and night, my twin boys Cruz and Carter arrived at 37+1 weeks both naturally, but rushed to theatre for Carter who’s heart rate kept dropping. A long week in hospital where they learnt to feed, gain weight, and treated for jaundice, I spent Christmas in hospital away from my husband and daughters Tallulah 6 and Adalyn 3. With no visitors allowed and my husband Chris not seeing the twins after a few hours old until they were a week old and home. Covid made me feel so isolated in hospital and then we have come home to more isolation, however our boys are the light in it all and are keeping us going through hard times.

Tell us your birth storyNoah was 1 week overdue & I had reduced movements so the Doctor decided he wanted to induce me. On the 25th I went into ANDA Ward where they applied a induction gel, as I had been 2cm dilated for a day or so and still no strong contractions. On the 26th they decided to break my waters: this took place at 7am. By 9:15am I was 5cm dilated and screaming in pain. From that moment on I started to push. By 10:25am Noah was born. He arrived so so quickly! In an hour and a half I went from 5-10cm , pushed Noah out & did it with only paracetamol and gas & air! It was a surreal experience!!! Noah turns 5 months next Tuesday!

Tell us your birth storyRobyn was born after 4 days in hospital being induced but finally resulted in a c-section, and 4 days earlier than her due date of Christmas Eve! It wasn't easy for dad, Marc, to be at home waiting for this time (he says he walked a hole i the floor at home) but he was able to be there to see her born to the sounds of Chris Rhea's "Driving home for Christmas" at 11.10am on 20th December and came to pick us up the following evening to make it home for a lockdown Christmas day but equally as special.

Tell us your birth storyI had a complicated pregnancy starting with hyperemesis gravidarum until week 25. I was admitted to hospital at 30 weeks due to pre-eclampsia where I stayed until I gave birth. We made it to 34+2 weeks until things deteriorated and baby had to come via c-section, performed by the fetal specialist Dr. Latha. We had a 10 day stay at hospital before AJ was allowed home. He’s now 4 weeks old and 5lbs4oz!
