EXTRA security has been introduced in Bournemouth Lower Gardens following reports of the Christmas Tree Wonderland being vandalised.
The council has confirmed that 'light installations have been damaged' during the set up of the Christmas displays in Bournemouth Lower gardens.
Over the last couple of days, barriers have been put up around the first half of the gardens and extra security has been introduced on site at the works.
Jon Weaver, Head of Destination and Events at BCP Council said: “During the Christmas Tree Wonderland build some of the light installations have been damaged. As a precautionary measure we have increased the security and erected additional heras fencing around the installations.
“Christmas Tree Wonderland is a hugely popular event, and we’re now looking forward to welcoming residents and visitors from tomorrow (Friday 19 November). We hope that everyone gets into the festive mood and really enjoys all the light installations as well as the other Christmas offerings around Bournemouth this year.”
