LIDL GB has confirmed that its new supermarket on Christy’s Lane in Shaftesbury will open for the first time on Thursday.
The store opening times will be between 8am and 10pm, Monday to Saturday, and 10am to 4pm on Sunday.
During the first week of opening customers will be able to find deals and offers on selected products including a rechargeable electric toothbrush for £7.99 and a Sanitas heated back/neck Pad for £8.99.
Part of the company’s ongoing £1.3bn expansion and regeneration plans across Great Britain for 2021 and 2022, the store will create around 40 new jobs for the local community.
The new supermarket will feature facilities including a 1,261 metres squared sales area, an instore bakery, customer toilets as well as 117 car parking spaces which will include two rapid electric vehicle charging spaces, seven dedicated disabled spaces as well as eight parent and child spaces.
Lidl GB’s regional head of property, James Mitchell, commented: “We are pleased to start welcoming local residents through our doors in Shaftesbury.
“We have worked closely with the local council to deliver this new store and would like to thank everyone who has played a part. We look forward to serving our multi-award-winning products to the local community.”
