Former England footballer Jamie Redknapp has welcomed his first child, a son named Raphael Anders Redknapp, with model Frida Andersson.

Sharing a photo of himself with the newborn on Instagram, he wrote: “Meet Raphael Anders Redknapp, we’re so in love, mum is doing so well too.

"We can’t thank the amazing doctors and nurses at the Chelsea and Westminster enough. So excited for him to meet my boys.”

Frida quickly commented under Jamie's post, writing: "Our little Viking."

The couple reportedly married last month, and announced back in August that they were expecting.

Jamie shares two sons, Charles, 17, and Beau, 13, with his ex-wife, pop singer Louise Redknapp.

Meanwhile, Frida has four sons with hedge fund manager Jonathan Lourie, 58.

Jamie is currently a pundit at Sky Sports, and turned out for Liverpool, AFC Bournemouth, Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton in his playing days, as well as making 17 appearances for the English national team.

Fellow pundit Jamie Carragher commented on Jamie's Instagram post saying: "Congrats to you both."

Other people involved in the sporting world congratulated the couple, including John Terry, Robbie Keane, Avram Grant and Kevin Pietersen.
