PIZZA Hut has confirmed another restaurant is to close its doors this month – the same day as another nearby site.
The branch in Barrack Retail Park in Christchurch will shut on Sunday, November 28 in a decision that Pizza Hut describes as “out of our control”.
This confirms that two Pizza Hut restaurants will close on the same day, with the Westover Road site in Bournemouth town centre also shutting its doors on Sunday.
A Pizza Hut Restaurants spokesperson said: “Like many hospitality businesses, Pizza Hut Restaurants has faced disruption due to the pandemic. We are saddened by the upcoming closure of our Barrack Retail Park restaurant in Christchurch, however this was beyond our control.
“Wherever possible we always try to redeploy our team members to other Pizza Hut Restaurants in order to minimise the impact to our workforce. You can continue to enjoy Pizza Hut at our Castle Lane West restaurant in Bournemouth.”
Earlier this year it was reported that St James Place Trust, which has owned Christchurch Retail Park since 2007, tabled a planning application to BCP Council for the Pizza Hut premises.
The plans, if approved, would see a second McDonald’s in Christchurch.
However, plans have been met with almost 100 objections.
