DANGEROUS parking was described as "a constant problem" by the head teacher of a Poole first school.
In the last few weeks two complaints were made, one to the police and one to the council's transportation department, regarding dangerous parking around Courthill First School.
The Daily Echo visited the school in Parkstone and witnessed several parents parking on the double yellow lines and a couple parking on the zig-zags outside the school.
People parking on double yellow lines caused traffic congestion.
Head teacher Jane Davies said: "It is a constant problem. We also have problems with people parking across driveways."
She said that after complaints from a school governor and a member of the public traffic wardens visited the school.
Mrs Davies said: "That does solve the problem for a bit. We try to encourage parents to park in side roads and walk a short distance, which is good for your health. But it is a highly built up area and I do have sympathy with parents who have to get to work."
She added that the school does try to encourage children to walk, bike or scoot to school.
Parking services manager for the Borough of Poole Richard Hein said: "Borough of Poole operates a rolling programme that sees every primary and middle school in the borough receiving at least one visit per month from a parking attendant.
"If we receive complaints for a particular school, whenever possible, we will arrange further visits.
"However due to the small number of parking attendants, the number of visits have to be restricted. We also have to ensure that multiple visits to one school are not detrimental to other schools that are experiencing problems."
