A WOMAN who set up a support group for widows, widowers and divorcees following the tragic death of her husband last year is appealing for more members.
Following an amazing response at the launch party of the social group Second Time Around, Pauline Haywood, from Fordingbridge, wants to encourage even more people of all ages to come forward and join up.
Mrs Haywood's husband, Alan, was tragically killed in a road accident in January last year, when the car he was travelling in as a passenger crashed into a bank and overturned in Southampton Road, Fordingbridge.
She said: "Not only is it a social club but it has proved to be a crucial support network, not only for myself but also for all of the members in one way or another.
"Second Time Around is going extremely well.
"We have more than 70 members now but we still need more men as the membership is predominantly women.
"We would really like to see some new faces and get some fresh input and ideas from people.
"Everyone is really welcome and the group is so friendly and easy-going."
The group enjoys activities such as murder mysteries, golf days, mini-breaks, pub walks and is organising a group Valentine's day dinner.
