A DOG was saved after falling from a popular beauty spot in Bournemouth.
The coastguard were called to reports of a stranded dog over the cliff edge at Hengistbury Head at 2.36pm on 15, Wednesday, December.
Southbourne Coastguard's joint rescue coordination centre a along with Lymington Coastguard set up technical rescue equipment for a rope rescue and deployed two cliff technicians over the cliff to rescue the dog named Frank - a Hungarian vizla.
Once with the dog on the cliff, the coastguard managed to entice Frank into their dog rescue bag and get him back to safety.
A spokesperson for Southbourne Coastguard said: "We then recovered Frank and our cliff technicians to the top of the cliff where he was reunited with his relieved owner, no worse for wear despite his ordeal.
"A very happy ending!"
