A WOMAN sustained serious injuries in a hit and run crash involving a motorcycle in Poole.
The pedestrian, a woman aged in her 30s from Bournemouth, was taken to Southampton General Hospital following the incident on the A35 Ringwood Road between the Alderney roundabout and Mountbatten roundabout at 6.07pm on Thursday, December 16.
The crash involved a blue Triumph motorcycle.
It is reported that the rider and pillion passenger of the motorcycle fled the scene.
A 20-year-old man from Poole and a 21-year-old man from Oxford have been arrested on suspicion of driving offences.
Police Sergeant Rhys Griffiths, of the traffic unit, said: “I am appealing to any motorists who witnessed the collision, or manner of riding of the motorcycle prior to the incident, to please come forward.
“I am keen to hear from anyone who was driving in the area and may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage.”
The road was closed to allow emergency services to safely respond to the incident and treat the casualty.
It reopened at around 1.35am on Friday, December 17.
Sergeant Griffiths added: “Finally, I would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding while the road closures were in place. These allowed us to carry out a thorough examination of the scene and safely treat the injured person.”
