AS Omicron continues to spread across the country, the Covid case rate continues to fluctuate across Dorset.
In the seven days to December 12, Underhill & The Grove had the highest infection rate per 100,000 people at 1,196.
Meanwhile, Bridport South & West Bay had the lowest rate at 254.5.
Here we look at the number of infections and the rate per 100,000 people across each area using data from the government website.
The country is split up by Middle Super Output Area (MSOA), which are small areas with an average population of 7,200, and the data is updated each weekday, with the map showing the last seven days for which complete data is available.
The areas with the highest case rates:
- Underhill & The Grove – 73 cases (5 new), rate 1,196.9
- Bovington, Wool & Lulworth – 97 cases (28 new), rate 1,102.5
- Jumpers Common & Fairmile – 87 cases (20 new), rate 1,045.7
- Iford – 71 cases (decrease of 8), rate 947.6
- Bearwood – 51 cases (14 new), rate 924.9
- Hamworthy West – 63 cases (unchanged), rate 888.6
- Corfe Mullen – 90 cases (18 new), rate 878.2
- Swanage – 84 cases (11 new), rate 865.8
- Colehill – 50 cases (3 new), rate 858.1
- Newtown – 91 cases (21 new), rate 838.1
The areas with the lowest case rate:
- Bridport South & West Bay - 14 cases (decrease of 22), rate 254.5
- Burton Bradstock & Chideock – 20 cases (decrease of 20), rate 266.6
- Child Okeford & Iwerne Minster – 22 cases (decrease of 5), rate 306.0
- Beaminster, Maiden Newton & Halstock – 30 cases (decrease of 3), rate 307.0
- West Verwood – 25 cases (decrease of 11), rate 324.8
- Kinson West – 22 cases (decrease of 3), rate 341.1
- East Verwood – 26 cases (decrease of 4), rate 346.8
- Dorchester West & Poundbury – 46 cases (decrease of 14), rate 363.9
