TV SHOWS, Netflix films and photo shoots have been among the dozens of productions that have been produced in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole over the past year.
We submitted a Freedom of Information request to BCP Council find out what productions wanted to film in their authority area from January 2020 until September 2021 based on submitted filming permit requests.
The data shows that more than 100 productions have been filmed across the local authority area in this time period.
The data gives an indication of what production companies wanted to film, when they filmed and if there were any requirements.
Here are some of the biggest name films that took place across BCP in 2020 and 2021:
- Antiques Road Trip
The Antiques Road Trip visited Bournemouth to film a local history piece on British beach huts and Bournemouth seafront for the BBC in October 2020.
They also filmed at the Wimborne Model Town recently.
- Warner Brothers Filming
Warner Brothers came to Bournemouth to film - people had guessed it is the upcoming blockbuster The Sandman - in March this year.
Around 150 crew attended the three days of filming at Sandbanks Beach, Avalon Road and Beach Road Car Park between March 29 and 31, 2021.

- Redknapp’s Weekend Warm-Up
The film crew came to the area to shoot a segment of Harry and Jamie Redknapp’s new talk show. They requested permission to film on Bournemouth and Poole highways, at Broadstone Recreation Ground and Upton Country Park on April 8, 2021.
- Big Zuu's Big Eats
Big Zuu isn’t just a grime artist, he’s also a brilliant cook. Whilst his only professional experience may be six months behind the grill at Nandos, the self-taught chef's show follows him around the UK feeding some of the countries favourite comedians.
The hit Dave show came to Bournemouth on October 14 and October 15 in 2020.
- Three UK's mobile advert
BCPCouncil confirmed earlier this year that Three Mobile crews were filming an advert on Bournemouth Beach on May 12, 2021.
- Married at First Sight UK
The controversial match-making show came for to Bournemouth for two days of filming earlier this year.
Based on the Danish series of the same name, `Married at First Sight' is a reality series that matches couples based on scientific and sociological factors. A team of experts with backgrounds in psychology, psychotherapy, anthropology and theology fuse their professional knowledge to create matches.
The show was shot at Sandbanks and Whitecliff Recreation Ground with five cast and crew members on March 19 and 20, 2021.
- Susan Calman's Grand Day Out
IWC Media cam to Bournemouth to film part of Susan Calman's Grand Day Out which sees the comedian travel the coast in her vintage camper-van 'Helen Mirren'.
Crews filmed at Boscombe Promenade outside beach hut 1156. They filmed with Clare who owns the hut - they filmed a simple chat between presenter and contributor enjoying the view of the beach from the hut.
Their second location was Hengistbury Head where they filmed Susan walking down the path along South Cliff Beach and up towards Hengistbury Head.
- Crimewatch Roadshow
The BBC show filmed a retired police dog that now uses wheels to walk walking around his park whilst talking to his owners about his history on August 7, 2020.
- Olivia Meets Her Match
Ex-Love Island contestant Olivia Attwood's reality show planning her wedding to footballer Bradley Dack came to Bournemouth to film in June.
Olivia and Brad has a three day staycation in Bournemouth crews filmed them walking on the pier, having a chat. There were four 4 camera men each with a single camera and tripod/slider.
- Beer Masters
This hit Amazon series filmed in Poole at The Quay, Church Street, Thames Street, Baiter Beach and Sandbanks on July 2, 2021.
The actual series for Amazon saw teams across Europe and the UK compete to brew the best beer and be crowned the Beer Master. One of our teams was based in Poole.

- The Only Way is Essex
TOWIE cast and crew members visited Boscombe Pier and Bournemouth Beach on August 26 and 27, 2021.
Cast members took part in water activities, chartering a yacht, visiting restaurants and bars.
- Four in a Bed
Popular Channel 4 TV show filming B&B hosts compete against eachother to be named the best filmed in Bournemouth.
Four sets of owners go and visit each other's establishments and give feedback and payment based on value for money. During each visit, the hosts like to take their guests on a local 'activity' of sorts which showcases the area.
As part of the show, crews filmed at a B&B in Boscombe who took guests to the crazy golf on the pier - the B&B hosts have a real focus on being eco-friendly at their establishment, and with the golf having the eco-friendly spin of the ball going into the sea and being something the fish can eat, it was 'perfect'.
When looking for the B&B it was unclear if the episode had aired yet.
