A MOTHER has spoken of her shock and fear after a fire ripped through two cars parked in the road near her Bournemouth home.

Dina Skibniewska captured the blaze in Alington Road, Charminster, on video.

As reported, firefighters rushed to the scene to tackle the fire, which destroyed two cars.

Ms Skibniewska told the Daily Echo: "It was a very terrible loud blast, bang and fire in one second.

"I thought that someone had thrown firecrackers at my house.

"I was watching TV with my kids and we heard a very loud gunshot-type bang so we got scared.

"Then we looked out of our window and we see a car fiercely on fire, so we run to our garden as we were scared.

"We checked the window again and it spread to the other car."

Fire crews from stations in Christchurch and Westbourne attended the scene at 6.11pm on Friday, December 17.

On arrival, the firefighters found two cars well alight.

A Dorset Police spokeswoman said: "We were made aware from the fire service at 6.19pm on Friday, December 17, of a vehicle fire in Alington Road in Bournemouth.

"However, this was just for awareness and there is no further information on the log."
