THE number of people in hospital with Covid has fallen in the past four weeks.
As of last Tuesday - December 21 - University Hospitals Dorset Trust was caring for 55 coronavirus patients, figures show.
NHS England data shows the number of people being treated in hospital for Covid-19 by 8am on December 21 was down from 59 on the same day the previous week.
The number of beds at University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust occupied by people who tested positive for Covid-19 decreased by 27 per cent in the past four weeks – 28 days ago, there were 75.
The number of Covid-19 patients hospitalised nationally has increased by 10 per cent in the last four weeks, while the number on mechanical ventilators has decreased by three per cent.
The figures also show that 60 new Covid patients were admitted to hospital in University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust in the week to December 19. This was down from 63 in the previous seven days.
