MORE details about the transformation of a Bournemouth hotel have been revealed after plans were submitted for development.
A proposal is with BCP Council's planning department for the redevelopment of The Savoy Hotel in at Bournemouth's Westcliff.
It includes 21 remodelled bedrooms, an indoor spa, fitness and wellness centre, rooftop restaurant and terrace, new outdoor swimming pool and a garden restaurant with salt cave.
The Savoy was bought by renowned UK hotelier and owner Nicolas Roach last year.
It will be the first Bournemouth hotel in Mr Roach's Nici Hotels group.
A spokesperson for the group said: "With its unique clifftop location, offering extraordinary sea views and access down to Bournemouth’s award-winning sandy beaches, Nici Hotels is transforming a wonderful landmark building into a new destination resort – phase one of the redevelopment will include 70 bedrooms, a vibrant bar and restaurant, as well as outdoor terraces, landscaped gardens and feature pool."
The design is said to be inspired by Miami’s South Beach lifestyle.
A £20 million redevelopment programme is already under way, with the bedrooms and existing suites.
An open plan, all-day-dining South Beach bar and restaurant will look out onto a wide beach-facing terrace and the sea.
The menu will offer fresh local seafood, sharing platters, tempting nibbles and mouth-watering salads.
Newly upgraded meeting and events spaces will also be provided.
Easy access to Bournemouth’s beaches can be will be provided from the newly landscaped garden.
And there will be a fleet of bicycles for guests to enjoy, with freshly prepared picnics for day exploring the coastline, alongside grab and go beach bags for days spent basking in the sunshine.
An activities centre and children's club will also be on offer.
During phase two of the development, a spa and fitness centre, as well as a rooftop bar and destination garden restaurant will follow in 2023.
