Lifeboat crews were mobilised to an incident in Poole after receiving multiple emergency calls of an abandoned jet ski seen drifting in the harbour.
Both lifeboats from Poole Lifeboat Station were launched just before 10.30am on Friday January 30 after being tasked by the UK Coastguard.
A spokesman from Poole Lifeboat Station said: “The Atlantic soon arrived on-scene and the volunteer crew took the engine cover off to establish if the engine was warm, and see if the ski had been used, what they discovered was no engine.
“The ski was heavily waterlogged, and it was apparent that it had not been used recently.
“The lifeboat crew informed the harbour authority, and the ski was towed to PHC, where it was lifted out of the water, for further investigation.
“Both lifeboats returned back to station, and they were made ready for service by 12pm.”
