THE Daily Echo's Parking Mad campaign has again prompted lots of response on the website and calls from parents inviting us to their schools.

We will continue to visit schools in Dorset to monitor the parking situation outside their gates.

The aim of the campaign is simply to prevent parents and others putting children's lives at risk through dangerous parking.

Many readers are very supportive.

Sarah from Bournemouth commented on the website: "NIGHTMARE! That's what parents are when they park so dangerously!"

Geoff from Kinson said: "Full praise to the Echo for keeping this campaign going."

John from Poole wanted the Echo to go further and publish the registration numbers of offending drivers.

"The Echo has done a good job of highlighting where the blame lies for this problem. Now they should be not only blaming but shaming," he said.

But Flowerfairy from Poole said it is very difficult and dangerous around their child's school.

Flowerfairy added: "It's ridiculous! People need to start thinking of others and not just themselves.

"It really doesn't hurt to walk a little further, but it seems there are those parents just can't be bothered, it's the same story whichever school you see, whatever the parking provisions.

Anne from Bournemouth said that at Malmesbury Park School she regularly encounters hazards of cars parked on double yellow lines.

She said: "The yellow lines are for safety reasons. Our children are at risk. We should act before it's too late. We should be educating the children about this and the parents.

"We should be able to take note of the number plates and action must be taken. What about some local police enforcement?"
