FOOD waste collections across the Poole area should be underway by April next year – BCP councillors have been told.
The news has been welcomed by councillors from the area.
Council leader Cllr Drew Mellor said it remained the authority’s intention to provide the service although there had been a delay on a Government paper on the subject which had led to some uncertainty for waste services generally.
He said the item remains in the council’s 22-23 budget and he was anticipating the collection of food waste would get underway as planned.
Cllr Vikki Slade described the pledge as “great news for Poole” with a similar welcome from Cllr Sean Gabriel who said he was pleased to see the move towards levelling up services across the whole council area.
