PLANS for a town celebration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee have been unveiled.
Residents of Ringwood will be able to enjoy four days of celebrations, culminating in a ‘Party in the Park’ on the Jubilee weekend fit with live music, family entertainment, a bar, hot food and more.
On Sunday, June 5, the celebrations will be held at Carvers Recreation Ground all afternoon – with a giant screen being installed so residents can watch the national coverage of the occasion.
The weekend will also see a fun fair which will provisionally be hosted at the Bickerley Green, subject to water works being concluded in time for the bank holiday weekend.
Town mayor Cllr Tony Ring told the Echo: “At last we’re getting back to something like normality for social and community events and we’re immensely pleased to be able to confirm these events.
“The Ringwood community has an excellent record of producing celebratory events and we very much look forward to seeing everyone present at the Party in the Park.”
A grant of £5,000 was also provided by New Forest District Council to support the celebrations in Ringwood.
Cllr Ring also confirmed the town’s much-loved British Pedal Car Grand Prix event would take on Sunday, July 10 after approval from transport and district council bodies.
