TODAY we are putting the spotlight on five funny pets who never cease to entertain and adore their Dorset owners.
This week we say hello to Logie the handsome Shih Tzu, an inquisitive gerbil called Pickle-Rick and a curious cat called Covid.
Levi the short haired cat is at home in Southbourne having come over to England from Romania. He is especially adept at Parkour, according to his owner Jade Savage.
She added: “He enjoys playing with anything that is not intended for him, a top favourite being pens. He also loves cardboard boxes and bags, chewing them, chilling in them, everything.”
Zeus the collie and Rebel Chow Chow Rees (yes, that’s his real name!) are two partners in crime.
Five-year-old Zeus loves nothing more than catching tennis balls, whilst Jack Russell Rebel Chow Chow Rees, who was incorrectly sold as a chihuahua, is 10 months old and, according to his owner, is “such a loving human’s pup”.
Pickle-Rick the gerbil provides non-stop entertainment for Lynne Budden and her granddaughter Ferne.
Lynne said: “He likes being out of his cage and daily explores the lounge and all the mazes and castles that Ferne makes for him out of cardboard.
“He is a little star within the family as Ferne sends daily videos of his antics.”
Covid the cat, who is eighteen months old, loves playing with my hair bands, and chasing objects and sliding on our wooden flooring.
His owner Sarah Bailey said: “His party piece is eating the odd mini cheddar from my partners lips.”
Logie, the three-year-old Shih Tzu loves playing with dogs and balls, and also enjoys walks and cuddles with his owner Kate Nichols.
“He also loves posing for photos. Well why wouldn't he? He's such a handsome chap,” said Kate.
“And also the sweetest, most loving companion I could wish for. I haven't been well this year and he really does make me smile every day.”
