A SECURITY guard will be situated permanently outside a library in Christchurch.
BCP Council confirmed they had deployed the guard to the Christchurch Library on the High Street after new facilities were added to the space.
A council spokesperson said: “The reason is because the registrar and customer services departments are now available for residents to access within our BCP Council Hub at Christchurch Library on the High Street.
“These services were formerly available at the Christchurch Civic Centre, which is now closed.
“The security guard formally placed at the closed Civic Centre is now based within the BCP Council Hub at Christchurch Library and is there to help direct customers to these services within the building.”
As reported, the Christchurch Council offices in Bridge Street, which housed the registrar and customer services departments, closed in December 2021.
Christchurch Library is open from 9am-5pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 9am-6pm on Tuesday and Thursday, and from 10am-3pm on Saturday.
