A MAN has been fined by the courts for going almost double the 50mph speed limit on a dual carriageway in Poole.
Jason Costigan-Gee, aged 50, was alleged to have driven a Vauxhall car on the Dorset Way on March 14 last year at 98mph.
The defendant pleaded guilty to the charge of speeding and the case was dealt with without him having to attend court through the single justice procedure.
A lone magistrate sitting in a closed-doors hearing at Weymouth Magistrates' Court on February 8 issued a £120 fine and an order to pay a £34 surcharge and £110 costs.
Costigan-Gee, whose address was given as Buckthorn Close, Creekmoor, had his driving record endorsed with six points.
