REPORTS of antisocial behaviour declined massively in December across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, according to the latest figures. 

Dorset Police responded to 737 reports of antisocial behaviour between December 1 and December 31, according to police.uk data - down from 1,058 in November and 1,089 in September.

This is the equivalent to an average of around 23 offences a day throughout November - down from an average of 42 per day in June.

Antisocial behaviour is defined as 'behaviour by a person which causes, or is likely to cause, harassment, alarm or distress to persons not of the same household as the person' according to the Antisocial Behaviour Act 2003 and Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011.

Dorset was recently named as one of the safest counties in England and Wales after figures show a drop in recorded crime.

Dorset Police has seen a six per cent drop in recorded crime, according to the latest figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) and has the ninth lowest crime rate across England and Wales.

In Bournemouth there were 464 reported incidents of antisocial behaviour, in Christchurch there were 54 and in Poole there were 219 reports.
