A man has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and supplying class A drugs after a man died in a hotel room.
Police were called to the Laguna Hotel in Suffolk Road at 7.36pm on Friday after receiving a report relating to the death of a man aged in his 40s in a room at the hotel.
Officers attended the address and, following enquiries, a local man has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and supplying class A drugs.
An investigation is underway to establish the full circumstances of the death.
The man’s next of kin have been informed and the coroner has been notified.
A cordon has been put in place as enquiries continue.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "There will be an increased police presence in the area and officers can be approached by members of the public with any information or concerns."
