A KITE surfer got into difficulties while in the water in Boscombe yesterday.
Southbourne Coastguard were tasked at 11.10am on Sunday, February 20, by the joint rescue coordination centre to reports of a kite surfer in difficulties near to Manor Steps.
While en route to the scene, a crew stopped above the Manor Steps zig zag to “get eyes” on the potential casualty.
With none spotted, they proceeded onto the promenade and eventually located a group of kite surfers at the Portman Ravine zig zag.
On investigation it was found that the casualty had made it ashore with the assistance of another kite surfer and had gone home safe and well. With this information, crews stood down and returned to the station.
