A SPECTACULAR new music festival will take place between the piers on Bournemouth beach this summer.
The first HIGH TIDE event is set for Friday, July 1, and Saturday, July 2, with purpose-built stages on the beach.
Grammy Award winning Clean Bandit will headline the first night line-up, which will have a dance and Ibiza theme.
There has been nothing like it on the Bournemouth beachfront before and audiences of up to 10,000 are expected each day.
Tickets from £39 for Friday are now on sale online.
Simon Smith, co-organiser, said: “Bringing a large-scale music festival to Bournemouth has been a long held ambition of ours.
"We have enjoyed growing and developing SKATE, the winter ice rink in the Lower Gardens and have been in talks with BCP council to achieve our vision for a summer event.
"We are delighted that in 2022, after two difficult years for hospitality, we are able to bring an event that we know music lovers, both local to the area and tourists, will enjoy.
"There is a lot of work to do ahead of the event in July but we are committed to making this a spectacular event."
"We hope that the people of Bournemouth will take the quality of the Line Up for our first show as a strong indication of our plans to make this event a big part of the Bournemouth event landscape for the future.”
The acts will perform in the afternoon and evening and access to the site will be from each pier front, not the cliff top.
Artists on Friday will also include Tinie (formerly Tinie Tempah), DJ Fresh, Sigala, DJ Yoda, Greg Wilson, Kosheen, JFB, Ibiza Symphonic Orchestra, Showhawk Duo, Kilmo (The Hush Club) and Tom Mayhem.
Saturday features live sets from internationally acclaimed indie, rock and pop acts with DJs and acoustic performers with the full line-up to follow shortly.
The event, between 3pm-11pm each day, has been welcomed by Cllr Philip Broadhead, deputy leader of BCP Council and cabinet member for development growth and regeneration.
He said: “This event looks exciting, offering some incredible headline acts from the music scene and once again putting our area on the map.”
"It’s great to see a new event proposal for the beach that would be enjoyed by residents and visitors, which raises the profile of Bournemouth and the region."
