Police want to speak to the driver of a truck after a road rage incident on the A338 this week.

Dorset Police have issued an appeal and are asking for dashcam footage following the incident on Wednesday.

A spokesperson said: "Dorset Police received a report at 4.35pm on Wednesday 23 February of criminal damage caused to a vehicle on the A338 between St Pauls roundabout and Richmond Hill.

"The victim – who was driving a Volvo – turned left to join the A338 at the roundabout. At the same time, an Iveco lift truck was prevented from entering the roundabout by another vehicle.

"It is reported that the victim was driving along the A338 when he noticed the truck driving closely behind him and follow at a short distance.

"The truck overtook the victim and pulled in front of them, causing both vehicles to come to a stop."

Police say the driver of the truck reportedly got out of his vehicle and caused significant damage to the wing mirrors on the victim’s car.

Police Constable Paul Hind, of Bournemouth police, said: “I understand that during the incident, a number of motorists drove past and I would urge any of them who witnessed what happened to please come forward.

“I am also keen to hear from anyone who may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage.”
