A WOMAN was rescued after taking a short cut that went wrong and becoming stuck in mud up to her waist.
Firefighters from Beaulieu Fire Station and officers from New Forest Heart Cops were called to rescue the woman between Hatchett Pond and Beaulieu Heath on Thursday, February 24.
The woman had been out for a walk and took a short cut which saw her sink up to her waist in a bog.
A spokesperson for New Forest Heart Cops said: "Please be careful when out walking in the Forest especially with it being so wet at the moment.
"Thanks again to Hampshire Fire and Rescue at Beaulieu who carried out a textbook rescue."
