FIVE people have been charged with seriously assaulting a man in Bournemouth town centre.
Dorset Police launched an investigation after it was reported that a man aged in his 30s was assaulted outside the London Market convenience store in Old Christchurch Road.
The alleged attack took place at around 3am on Wednesday, September 22.
Police said the complainant sustained broken teeth, a broken eye socket and a broken jaw.
Providing an update on the investigation, a Dorset Police spokeswoman said: "Following enquiries by officers, five people from Bournemouth were arrested in connection with the incident.
"A 17-year-old boy, a 17-year-old girl, two 18 year-old men and a 20-year-old man have all been charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent and are next due to appear at Bournemouth Crown Court on Monday, March 21, 2022."
All five defendants appeared at Poole Magistrates' Court for short hearings on Friday, February 18, where no pleas were entered.
