A body has been found following a search for a missing man.
On Tuesday (March 1), police launched an appeal after 62-year-old, John Murgatroyd, was reported missing in Aylesbury with officers believing to have travelled to Dorset.
Paramedics and officers from Dorset Police were called to the Dancing Ledge area of Swanage on Wednesday where the body of a man was discovered.
Emergency care was given to the man but despite their best efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a file is being prepared for the coroner.
A Thames Valley Police spokesman said: "Formal identification processes have not yet taken place but the family of Mr John Murgatroyd have been informed of the death.
"Our thoughts are with them at this very difficult time and they have asked for privacy."
