A MAN has been ordered to pay compensation after he stole a Nintendo Switch console and a haul of games.
Thomas Henry Roy Sherred was prosecuted following the theft at an address in Grafton Close, Bournemouth, between March 12 and March 13, 2020.
It was alleged that Sherred stole the console and games, which had an overall value of between £800 and £900.
The defendant, aged 33 and of Westover Road, Bournemouth, previously pleaded guilty to theft but he was not present for a sentencing hearing at Poole Magistrates’ Court on February 28.
The hearing went ahead in his absence and District Judge Stephen Nicholls issued a 12-month community order. This included a requirement to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work and up to 10 days of rehabilitation activity.
Sherred was ordered to pay £800 compensation to the victim.
