A ROCK was thrown from a bridge and onto a car on a busy road in Poole which could have had “serious consequences” for a motorist and his child inside the vehicle.
The man aged in his 30s was driving his car along the Dorset Way towards the Tower Park Roundabout at around 3.40pm on Wednesday, March 2, when the incident occurred.
As the driver approached the bridge linking Tower Park to Mannings Heath, he witnessed a group of three or four teenagers throwing items off the bridge.
The occupants of the car were uninjured but the windscreen was damaged.
Police are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or captured dashcam footage to contact them.
Police Constable Tom Henley, of Poole police, said: “This was extremely dangerous behaviour by the individuals involved that could have had serious consequences for the motorist and his child in the vehicle.
“Fortunately, they were not injured but we remain determined to identify those responsible.
“I would urge anyone who was in the area at the time and either witnessed the incident or may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage to please get in touch.”
