Organisers of the Help from Bournemouth to Ukraine campaign have thanked those who have donated or volunteered for an “incredible weekend of support”.
The operation will continue this week at Castlepoint with donations still being welcomed. An updated list of items required for donations has been published:
- First Aid Supplies
- Batteries
- Torches
- Power Banks
- Binoculars
- Medicines
- Sleeping Bags/Tents
- Hygiene Essentials
- Feminine Hygiene Products
- Long Shelf Food
- Thermoses
- Disposable Cutlery
- Waterproof Jackets
- Clothes donations
- Animal food (dog food/pet food) – Dry or tinned only please.
In addition to those listed above, there has also been a specific request for maternity items including baby bottles, teats and Milton sterilising fluid.
Anyone wishing to donate should split the goods into the categories listed above and label each donation package. The packages can then be dropped to the vacant unit next to JD sports at Castlepoint shopping centre.
The unit is open for donations at the following times:
- Monday-Friday: 9am-5pm.
- Saturday: 10am-3pm.
- Sunday: CLOSED
Organisers have asked for anyone looking to make bulk donations to message their Facebook page ‘help from Bournemouth to Ukraine’ ahead of arrival. They will be asked to confirm a time and provide their vehicle registration.
