A MAN reportedly used an axe to break the windows of two pharmacies in Southbourne, police have confirmed.
The windows of two pharmacies in Bournemouth were smashed in the early hours of the morning, it was alleged that an axe was used to cause the damage.
Tuckton Pharmacy and Healthpoint Pharmacy, both in Tuckton Road in Southbourne, were targeted sometime between 2am and 3.45am on Friday, March 4.
Police said the front windows were smashed during the incidents. It is not believed entry was gained to either premises.
Officers attended and, following enquiries, a 45-year-old Christchurch man was arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary and criminal damage.
A Dorset Police spokesperson said: "The investigation remains ongoing and the arrested man remains released under investigation while enquiries continue."
Police previously issued an appeal for witnesses to come forward as part of the ongoing investigation.
Police Constable Liam Moss, of Dorset Police’s Priority Crime Team, said: “Our investigation is ongoing, and I am appealing to any witnesses or anyone with information to please come forward if they have not already spoken to police.
“I would also urge any residents or local businesses with CCTV systems, or motorists with dashcam who were in the area during the early hours of Friday 4 March 2022, to please check their footage for anything of relevance.”
