POLICE are appealing for help after two men were assaulted - one of whom was taken to hospital for treatment -  in Bournemouth town centre. 

At around 12.35am on Sunday, March 6, a group of four men in their 20s were waiting in the taxi rank by The Mandarin Chinese restaurant in Old Christchurch Road when they became engaged in conversation with another man.

The man became aggressive and punched one of the group in the face, before punching another to the back of his head.

Officers investigating the assault have issued an image of a man they would like to identify.

One of the victims sustained damage to his teeth and a cut to his lip and was taken to hospital for treatment. The other victim did not sustain any serious injuries.

Police Constable Daniel Grace, of Bournemouth police, said: “We are continuing to investigate these unprovoked assaults and have obtained images of a man we are keen to identify.

“I would urge anyone who recognises him to please contact us.

“I would also like to hear from anyone who was in the area and witnessed the incident if they have not already spoken to police.”
