SUPERGRASS have been unveiled as the penultimate headline act for the Saturday night of Bournemouth's HIGH TIDE festival this summer.

The band play Glastonbury in June, a couple of weeks before Bournemouth as well as a mini world tour including New York and Los Angeles.

The first HIGH TIDE event is set for Friday July 1 and Saturday July 2 with two purpose-built stages on the beach, between the piers.

As already reported, Grammy Award winning Clean Bandit headline the first night line-up, preceded by Tinie Tempah, DJ Fresh, and Sigala, amongst others.

Saturday features live sets from internationally acclaimed indie, rock and pop act, Supergrass being the first to be announced.

Audiences of up to 10,000 are expected each day.

A festival spokesperson said: "We are delighted to announce Supergrass as our penultimate headline act. Emerging from Oxford, in the mid-90s, Supergrass enjoyed an unbroken run of five top 10 albums, generating millions of worldwide sales.

"And now they’re bringing that sound to the golden sands of Bournemouth Beach, and we couldn’t be happier."

The headliners for Saturday are due to be announced shortly.

Early Bird tickets (priced from £39 per day) are on sale now, with Early Bird pricing ending Sunday 16th March at midnight.

The event takes place between 3pm and11pm each day.
