A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of a driving offence following a bus crash which has left a teenage girl in a "serious condition". 

Police and ambulance services were called to Wareham Road in Lytchett Matravers on Monday afternoon following reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a bus at 4.08pm.

A 15-year-old girl was taken by air ambulance to Southampton General Hospital for treatment. Her condition remains serious and her family is being kept updated.

Dorset Police have arrested a 59-year-old man from Dorchester on suspicion of driving offences - he has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Police Sergeant Mark Scammell, of the traffic unit, said: “We are continuing to investigate the full circumstances of this collision and I am keen to hear from any witnesses who have not already spoken to police.

“I would also encourage any motorists who have relevant dashcam footage that may assist our enquiries to please come forward.”
