REPORTED crime was on the rise in January with violence and sexual offences continuining to be the most reported across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.
According to the latest figures from police.uk there were a total of 3,312 crimes reported across the conurbation in the first month of 2022.
January’s crime rate saw a notable increase on the previous month and broke the trend of falling reports - in comparison, 3,068 crimes were reported in December.
Violence and sexual offences was the most reported crime across the conurbation in January with 1,044
This was followed by anti-social behaviour which was reported 861 times in January.

Across the conurbation the third highest crime was criminal damage and arson which received 297 reports - up from 252 in December.
Vehicle crime (244), other theft (221) and criminal damage and arson (297) all received similar rates of reports throughout January in the BCP council area.
The lowest reported crimes were theft from a person (15), possession of weapons (13) and robbery (27).

Bournemouth saw a total of 1,974 reports, Christchurch received 280 and Poole had 1,058 crimes reported in December 2021.
