Police have closed a road while officers deal with an ongoing incident at a property in West Howe.
One man has been arrested following an earlier incident in the Verney Road area.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said they were called at 5am this morning to reports of a disturbance at a property in the Verney Road area.
"It is reported that a man entered the property while in possession of a bladed weapon and made threats to the occupant, before leaving the address.
"Officers subsequently attended an address in Fernheath Road to carry out arrest enquiries.
"One man has been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and has been taken to hospital for treatment to injuries to his arm.
"The road is currently closed while officers make efforts to engage with a second man inside the address."
Police are stationed at the cordon in West Howe.
