A SHOP at a Poole petrol station could be extended to increase the size of the store as part of a refurbishment project.
SGN Retail is seeking permission from BCP Council to carry out the work at Longfleet Road Filling Station.
If approved, the plans would see a new single-storey extension built on the rear of the existing premises.
A design and access statement submitted on behalf of the applicant by Wyeth Projects Services said: “Internally the existing building will be opened up and, together with the new extension, will be re-arranged to improve the retail sales area and rationalise the back of house arrangement.
“The new extension and the altered existing layout will internally provide better consolidated staff, storage and preparation areas and an office.”
The development would see new cabinets, counters and gondolas installed in the convenience store, which is currently operated as a Best One.
There will also be new chillers and freezer equipment which will be more energy efficient than the existing equipment.
The plans would also see an additional three parking spaces on the site for customers to use.
Residents can still leave comments on the proposal by visiting BCP Council’s online planning portal.
