A MAN who made threats with a rolling pin in a “prolonged incident” in a high street has been jailed for several months.
Graham Adam, aged 63, was in the dock at Poole Magistrates’ Court for sentencing on March 23 in relation to the incident which took place on April 19, 2020.
Adam, of Hawthorn Road, Bournemouth, previously pleaded guilty to having an offensive weapon, namely a rolling pin in Wimborne Road, Winton.
He also admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause fear of or provoke unlawful violence.
Deputy District Judge Clare Boichot committed the defendant to prison for 17 weeks and ordered him to pay £200 compensation.
The court found the offence was aggravated due to hostility based on the sexual orientation, or presumed sexual orientation, of the victim.
It was also ordered that the rolling bin be forfeited and destroyed.
