A CAR which was left abandoned in a Bournemouth road has been returned to its owner weeks after it was reported stolen near to where it was found.
Bournemouth Police had received reports of concerns from the public about the vehicle, which had been parked in St Michael's Road, some distance from the kerb.
Police Community Support Officer Harold looked into the matter and following a check of the police national computer it was discovered the vehicle had been reported stolen in the area of Commercial Road on Friday, February 4.
A Bournemouth Police spokesperson said: “Given the locality where the vehicle was reported stolen and where it has been found, it could be that the owner may have forgotten where they parked it.
“Bournemouth South Sergeant has informed the owners and facilitated transport for the victim to come to collect the car. Another happy Dorset citizen.”
