AN UNAUTHORISED encampment remains on land near Bournemouth Railway Station.
A total of eight caravans and vehicles are currently pitched on land to the rear of the station.
The encampment has been situated at the site since earlier this month.
South Western Railway has confirmed it owns the land.
A SWR spokesperson said:“We are aware of the unauthorised encampment at Bournemouth station and are working with the relevant authorities to resolve the situation.”
BCP Council said that as the camp is on private land, it will “continue to asses needs and support of the owner.”
Speaking earlier this month, councillor Bobbie Dove, Portfolio Holder for Community Safety and Regulatory Services, said: “BCP Council can confirm that there is an encampment of five living units situated at the rear of Bournemouth Railway Station.
"A statutory needs and risk assessment will be undertaken and we will be liaising with the land owner, who holds responsibility for this land."
A Dorset Police spokesperson said: "We received a report at around 9am on Wednesday 16 March 2022 of an unauthorised encampment in the area of Bournemouth Railway Station.
"Officers have been carrying out regular patrols in the area and have been liaising with those present as well as the local authority and the landowner.
"We will continue to liaise with the council to monitor the situation and will be taking appropriate further action as required."
