REPORTS of antisocial behaviour increased slightly in January across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, according to the latest figures. 

Dorset Police responded to 861 reports of antisocial behaviour between January 1 and January 31, according to police.uk data - up from 737 in December.

This is the equivalent to an average of around 27 offences a day throughout January - down from an average of 42 per day in June.

Antisocial behaviour is defined as 'behaviour by a person which causes, or is likely to cause, harassment, alarm or distress to persons not of the same household as the person' according to the Antisocial Behaviour Act 2003 and Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011.

Dorset was recently named as one of the safest counties in England and Wales after figures show a drop in recorded crime.

Dorset Police has seen a six per cent drop in recorded crime, according to the latest figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) and has the ninth lowest crime rate across England and Wales.

In Bournemouth there were 507 reported incidents of antisocial behaviour, in Christchurch there were 66 and in Poole there were 288 reports.
