THOSE of a squeamish disposition look away now.
A live show that’s been called “not for the faint hearted” comes to Bournemouth later this month.
The Post Mortem Live Show will visit The Mercure hotel in Meyrick Road on Wednesday, April 13.
The four-hour show will give audience members the chance to step into the shoes of a pathologist and determine how ‘victim’ Rachel Harris met her death.
Working with award-winning human anatomist Sam Piri, people will get an insight into CSI, pathology and forensics.
Attendees will “dissect" the human body to learn about the organ systems including a real kidney, stomach, intestines, lungs and heart.
Organisers said attendees will use "forensic entomology, the study of insects to try and work out how long the body has been left for dead."
A spokesperson said: "To do this you will pull live maggots and pupae casings from the dead body using forceps which has been specially prepared and use expert guidance to work out how old they are."
Sam Piri said: “As an organisation we’re on a mission to both deepen and wider understanding in how the human body works.
"My mission is support students and the general public nationwide to appreciate the scientific method and to understand how their body works. Anatomy fascinates me and I’m confident this show won’t disappoint."
Tickets start from £35 and can be purchased online at www.thepostmortemlive.co.uk.
