A CAR has been recovered in the aftermath of a speeding, failure to stop for police and dangerous driving incident in Bournemouth.
Dorset Police officers on patrol in the Springbourne area spotted a vehicle in the early hours of Tuesday April 5 being driven at speed. The driver then failed to stop for the officers and reportedly “drove dangerously” to escape.
Upon further investigation, officers found the car was displaying false number plates which had been stolen from the Poole area that evening.
A police spokesperson said: “We located [the car] this morning (Wednesday) after a sighting by an off-duty officer, but it was parked and locked up. Checks of the vehicle identification number revealed it as a stolen vehicle from the Springbourne area.”
The vehicle has been recovered for forensic examination and returned to its rightful owner shortly after.
