Plans for a new dining hall at a Poole school have been approved.
BCP Council's planning department gave the plans for St Edward's Secondary School the go-ahead last week.
A report from the planning officer said the school stated the current kitchen and dining facilities are unable to cater for the growing number of students on the school roll.
The new building on the Dale Valley Road site would be two storeys high and would have a mezzanine first floor that would overlook the lower double storey section.
A design and access statement as part of the application said: "This will provide an attractive visual aspect over the main external social areas used by pupils during break and lunch times."
The new building will displace the mini bus parking, bin storage and some cycle parking provision which will be moved elsewhere.
