A CAFÉ striving to serve ‘extraordinary’ food is due to open its second store in Bournemouth next month.
Moka Pot, which already runs a popular café in Westbourne, is set to open a second eatery in the Burlington Arcade in Bournemouth town centre.
The newest café plans to open its doors from early May, tempting in customers with a selection of delicious bread, pizza, pastries, cakes, coffee, breakfast and lunches.
Moka Pot was created by Italian brothers Giuseppe and Flavio Pappalardo, who partnered with UK-born Nathan Muir to bring together flavours of Sicily and England.
Flavio said: “We started Moka Pot with a simple idea - to open a place to treat you with our scrumptious baked goods.
“We offer English food using local products, but also an Italian experience. It’s a fusion of Sicily and England.
“We love our shops, and everyone is welcome.”
Their current Westbourne store boasts a range of English and Italian inspired tasty treats including homemade choux pastry with hazelnut cream, almond and praline, a Sicilian pistachio cookie with white Belgian chocolate, as well as a popular chorizo and egg breakfast served with sweet potatoes, courgettes and onions.
The cafe has remained a popular spot in Westbourne, but Flavio had initial concerns surrounding the location of the newest Moka Pot, and worried that coffee shops and cafes in the Bournemouth town centre were experiencing reduced popularity.
He said: “We’ve seen the area go downhill in the last five years. But we believe Bournemouth can get back to where it was.”
Now, the team are working hard to get the Bournemouth café ready ahead of its planned opening next month. A date for its official opening is yet to be confirmed.
In a Moka Pot Facebook post, Flavio, Giuseppe and Nathan said: “We would like to say thank you very much to all of you who have supported us since day one.
“We want to also say a big thank you to our team in Westbourne who everyday work with passion and love for Moka Pot.”
